Location: Blackwood, NP12 1BR

Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday - 8am - 4pm

Payrate: £28,000- £30,000 (depending on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of our 24-bed nursing home in Blackwood, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our the people we support staff, and visitors.

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Build positive relationships with service managers and provide regular maintenance updates.
  • Lead and support a team of up to five maintenance assistants, promoting high performance and development.
  • Ensure the home, grounds, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, including minor electrical, plumbing, and decorating work.
  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance and support project work as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records on the CAFM system.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Support statutory compliance, obtaining required approvals before works commence.
  • Seek specialist advice where needed to meet legal and best practice standards.
  • Contribute to energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
  • Follow company policies and escalate issues when appropriate.

 

Skills and experience:

 

*   Previous experience of working in facilities management as a facilities manager, or similar.

*   Excellent communication skills.

*   Ability to prioritise effectively.

*   Good technical knowledge and understanding of when and how to seek specialist expertise.

*   Confident IT user.
