Job Title: Data Protection Advisor 

Location: Chesterfield, S41 7SL (Hybrid) 

Salary: Up to £30'000 per annum 

 

Job Overview: As a Data Protection Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that ivolve care & support complies with data protection laws and regulations, safeguards sensitive information, and manages risks related to data privacy and security.

 

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will assess the organisation's data privacy risks, advise on best practices for data handling, and provide guidance on privacy impact assessments. Additionally, you will oversee data breach response plans and support with DSAR requests.

As Data Protection Advisor you will not hold the responsibility of the DPO.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Develop and update data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Compliance Management: Monitor regulatory developments related to data protection and ensure organisational compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or other relevant laws.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct privacy risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Data Privacy Impact Assessments: Lead data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, systems, or processes to identify and address privacy risks.
  • Data Breach Management: Develop and maintain data breach response plans, including incident detection, notification procedures, and post-incident remediation.
  • Data Subject Requests: Manage data subject access requests (DSARs) and other requests related to data privacy rights, ensuring timely responses and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of data processing activities, privacy incidents, and compliance efforts. Prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory authorities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or information security roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex privacy risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Experience with privacy management tools and technologies is desirable.
