Job Title: Deputy Manager
Location: Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, YO16 7PE
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm)
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital leadership role in delivering high-quality, person-led care for adults with complex mental health needs. Supporting the Registered Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, lead a team of care staff, and ensure the wellbeing, dignity, and development of each individual we support. You will act as a positive role model and a key point of contact for colleagues, professionals, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Person-led Care:
- Support adults with complex mental health conditions and promote their recovery.
- Safeguard individuals and provide responsive, tailored support.
- Develop, review, and monitor person-centred care plans.
- Promote independence, life skills, and community integration.
- Support people to engage in education, employment, social activities, and holidays.
- Respond appropriately to mental health relapses or safeguarding concerns.
Team Leadership:
- Manage the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Lead, coach and support a team of care professionals.
- Supervise team performance and complete staff appraisals.
- Contribute to rota planning, shift management, and staff attendance.
- Authorise timesheets and support disciplinary processes where needed.
Quality & Compliance:
- Conduct audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Promote safe, effective care practices in line with CQC standards.
- Administer medication and manage finances (following training).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for internal and external use.
Service Development:
- Work with the team and individuals we support to continuously improve service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with families, health professionals, and community partners.
- Participate in service reviews and lead on improvement plans.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Experience working in mental health services.
- Ability to respond effectively to complex needs and safeguarding issues.
- Strong communication skills and partnership working with MDTs.
- Good general education and IT confidence.
- Understanding of relevant care regulations and safeguarding practices.
- Level 2 RQF in Health and Social Care.
- A commitment to person-led care, equality, and inclusion.
Desirable:
- RQF Level 3 or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience leading or supervising a care team.
- Training in fire safety, first aid, food hygiene, manual handling.
- Knowledge of Prader-Willi Syndrome and/or supporting individuals with dual diagnoses.
