Job description
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package
Purpose: Coordinate the Group’s reporting of financial performance and other KPIs, lead on forecasting and budgeting processes, and ensure financial analysis across the business generates insight to lead to actions which drive performance forward. This is a new role with a real opportunity to shape things going forward as we continue to grow as a group to benefit more lives
Responsible to: Group Financial Controller & Group Finance Director
Location and hours: Hybrid - Chesterfield/home based. Some limited travel out to regions to build relationships and understand the ivolve business
Role Responsibilities
- Develop close working relationships with regional finance teams, the group finance function (treasury, controls and governance), and leaders across the business
- Support the coordination of monthly financial reporting (Exec performance pack and Board pack), covering P&L, working capital, cashflow and balance sheet
- Evaluate and articulate financial results by developing insightful analysis, understanding of key performance drivers, business KPIs and external factors
- Coordinate and support other regular reporting including weekly KPIs and monthly balanced scorecards, ensuring that these enable timely data driven decisions to be made, and align to monthly financial performance – ensure there is “one version of the truth”
- Take a forward-looking view by highlighting opportunities and actions needed to improve performance, as well as potential risks and mitigations required
- Lead the coordination of budgeting, forecasting and 5-year plan processes between regional business units and departments, whilst considering top-down targets and strategic ambitions of the business
- Work closely with the Group Data Architect and others across the business to ensure that the data we hold is accurate and utilised in the right way
- Build strong relationships with other key data / reporting stakeholders including in the Quality team, People team and Data Protection. Understand ad hoc reporting requirements and how these can be streamlined and ensure our approach to data and reporting across the business is joined up
- Work closely with the wider teams to ensure end to end reporting is efficient through effective processes and continuous improvement. Help to assess future opportunities such as analytics projects, wider use of BI tools and use of automated analytics
The Ideal Candidate
- Relevant finance qualification(s)
- Experience of working in an FP&A or financial reporting role, ideally within a multi-site organisation or group with a number of different business units
- Experience of forecasting and budgeting processes, strong financial modelling skills
- Ability to work in an organisation with complexity in structure (multiple regions and entities)
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience / knowledge of financial reporting and consolidation systems such as Lucanet, TM1, Cognos or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to make financial performance easy to understand
- Good at building relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, with a can-do attitude and collaborative approach to working
