Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Vacancy Location: Horley, Surrey (Regional, covering Residential and Supported Living Homes)

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (plus on- call 1 in 4 weeks)

Salary: £28'000 Per Annum + Company Van

Who We Are We are an award-winning social care provider who believes in putting people first. Our values—Passion, Kindness, and Resilience—are at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to be recognized by The Sunday Times as a top employer, and we want you to join our family.

The Opportunity

We aren't just looking for someone to change lightbulbs; we are looking for someone to help build a home.

We are a dedicated care provider supporting adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe, beautiful, and well-maintained environment. As our new Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in the happiness and comfort of the people we support.

You won't be on a building site or in a cold workshop. You will be out on the road, visiting our Residential and Supported Living homes, ensuring they are safe, vibrant, and functioning perfectly.

What You Will Be Doing

No two days are the same in this role. Working both independently and alongside our supportive regional team, you will ensure our properties are kept to the highest standard.

  • The Fixer: Tackling basic plumbing and electrical work (where permitted) and performing basic carpentry repairs. You're the person who saves the day when things stop working.
  • The Decorator: Painting and decorating to keep our homes looking fresh, bright, and welcoming.
  • The Safety Guardian: Conducting Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and general safety checks to ensure the environment is compliant and secure.
  • The Home Maker: Maintaining the overall appearance and wellbeing of the homes—because a well-kept home is a happy home.

What We Need From You

  • Practical Experience: You are comfortable with basic trade skills (DIY, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
  • A Can-Do Attitude: You are proactive, spotting problems before they become issues.
  • Compassion: You are comfortable working in environments supporting vulnerable adults and can be respectful of their personal space.
  • Independence: You are happy to manage your own day and travel across the region.
  • Flexibility: You are willing to cover an on-call rota (one week in every four) to handle emergencies.

The Package

We know how hard you work, and we want to look after you. We provide everything you need to hit the ground running.

  • Great Salary: Starting at £28,000.00 per annum.
  • Company Vehicle: A Company Van is provided for your work travel.
  • Fully Equipped: All tools and equipment are supplied—you just need to bring your skills.
  • Look the Part: Full uniform provided.
  • Work-Life Balance: A generous 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays.

Ready to make a difference?

If you want to use your practical skills to improve the lives of others, we want to hear from you. Apply today and become a key part of our care family!
