Job Title: Regional Health & Safety Manager

Responsible to: Group Head of Health and Safety

Location: Remote/Regional (Essex and East Surrey)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

 

About the role:

 

As the Regional Health & Safety Manager at ivolve Care & Support, you will have a critical responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and people we support across Surrey and Essex (South Region), which includes over 70 sites.

Health and Social Care sector experience is not mandatory. However, the successful candidate will need to establish relationships quickly and have excellent communication skills. Working with the Head of Health & Safety, you will develop, implement, and monitor health and safety initiatives to create a secure and compliant environment for our colleagues and the people we support.

 

The key responsibilities are:

  • Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies and procedures following relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all health and safety regulations and standards by conducting regular audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide recommendations to the management team for risk mitigation. Ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Working together with our L&D department to provide training on Health & Safety and Fire Safety related topics.
  • Deliver health and safety training to employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders in line with changing regulations.
  • Investigate and report on all accidents and incidents and implement preventive measures. Keep accurate records of incidents and near misses.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fire safety plans, including evacuation procedures and emergency response strategies.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans, ensuring that all colleagues are adequately trained. Collaborate with internal teams to promote a safety culture and provide guidance and support on health and safety matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement in health and safety by analysing data, identifying trends, and implementing proactive measures.
  • Maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, stay informed about changes in legislation, and ensure the company's ongoing compliance.

 

About you:

  • Excellent communicator- the ability to forge strong stakeholder relationships, influence, and engage at all levels.
  • Self-starter with a positive and flexible approach.
  • Thrive in a solution-orientated culture, driving meaningful solutions that make a positive impact on our colleagues and the people we support.
  • Recognised NEBOSH qualification or similar professional qualification in health and safety.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and quality management systems.
