A day in the life of a night support worker at ivolve

A day in the life of a night support worker at ivolve

Hello! My name is Willard and I’ve been a Support Worker at ivolve for six years.

As a night Support Worker, I’m responsible for helping the people I support in a person-centred way. This means meeting their needs in a way where they are leading the care and we support their choices and decisions. We treat people as individuals and the way in which we deliver the support is specific to that unique person taking into account their beliefs and preferences.

We have really easy-to-understand policies and procedures so we know the right way to provide care and there’s plenty of training to help too. It’s my responsibility to keep colleagues and the people we support safe and secure as well as manage things like infection control.

I really feel supported by my colleagues the manager and my team leaders. We have a lovely handover before the start of the night shift and I really enjoy hearing about the happiness and news about the people we support. I’m really grateful and I enjoy working with a fabulous team and the lovely people we support.
