Job description

Shifts: 30 hours per week and 37.5 hours  (based on a Monday to Sunday on a rota)

Location: St Saviours, 115 Splott Road, CF24 2BY

Payrate: £12.60 - £12.90 per hour

Social Care Wales: You will have six months from starting the position to register for your SCW pin

Role Overview 

  • As an Activities Care Assistant you would be in charge of designing, planning and organising activities to meet residents' physical, social and emotional needs.
  • You will be tasked with arranging a variety of activities such as: the cinema, shopping days, pet therapy, sports events or concerts, arts & crafts and lots more.
  • You make people feel good, being there for them when life gets tough, and you do it with a smile on your face.
  • We take time to get to know people irrespective of ability or disability, we aim to empower individuals to be as involved as they can be in control of their life.
  • You will support people with diverse needs such as learning disabilities, autism, ABI, and mental health. You will support people to flourish in a place they call home. We support people to be ambitious and live a filled life.

 
 

Key Skills and Experience 

 

Essential 

  • Good general education

  • Honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, and a passion to make a difference

  • Commitment to the aims and objectives of the home and of Ivolve

  • Satisfactory Police Check and check against the ISA List (where applicable)

  • A commitment to undertake training and development

 

Desirable 

  • RQF Level 2 or above in social care

  • Previous experience within social care setting

  • Knowledge and commitment regarding Equal Opportunities

  • Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks

  • Confident IT user
