Role Overview

 

Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you will lead a small team of IT Platform Specialists, focusing on application and end-user computing (EUC) solution delivery. You’ll be responsible for ensuring technical solutions meet service level agreements, security requirements, and quality standards. With a strong technical background and a solid understanding of software development and system integrations, you’ll drive the successful delivery of technical projects across the organisation.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

Technical Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of IT solutions, ensuring compliance with service levels, security requirements, and quality standards

  • Monitor solution performance and provide status updates to managers and senior stakeholders

  • Engage and influence stakeholders to develop solutions aligned with organisational standards

  • Plan and manage resources for budgeting, development, and delivery of technology solutions

  • Recommend optimal delivery methods by combining in-house and outsourced services

  • Align technology service management with strategic objectives and emerging opportunities

  • Promote technology innovation and assess feasibility and impact of proposed changes

Risk and Quality Management

  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities, assess impact and probability, and develop mitigation strategies

  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes across the development lifecycle

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices

  • Analyse performance data and stakeholder feedback to identify areas for improvement

  • Collaborate with teams to embed quality assurance practices and provide necessary training

  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate new QA methodologies and tools

  • Foster a culture of quality and promote awareness of QA principles across the organisation

Team Leadership

  • Lead and inspire functional teams to ensure effective collaboration across projects

  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional development

  • Encourage continuous improvement and sharing of best practices

  • Recognise and reward team achievements to boost motivation

  • Ensure team activities comply with company policies and maintain high performance standards

  • Provide ongoing support and resolve team issues to maintain a positive work environment

The Main Skills and Experience for This Role

 

Essential

  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development and system integrations

  • Proven experience in delivering technical projects, including planning and risk management

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Adaptability to changing project requirements while maintaining focus on objectives

  • Deep understanding of IT operations and support frameworks (e.g., ITIL practitioner)

  • Honesty, reliability, and a passion for making a difference

  • Commitment to the aims and values of the service and Ivolve

  • Experience in network, tenant, and infrastructure management

  • Experience with security monitoring tools

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, storage solutions, and automation tools

  • Recognised MCS qualifications
