Shifts: Full time 38 hours per week 8am-6pm(Monday to Sunday on a rota basis)

We're opening Ty Heulog, a brand-new, purpose-built 32 bed nursing home in Cardiff in Summer 2026, and we're looking for a passionate, dedicated Chef to help shape the culture and embed our values from the very beginning.
About Ty Heulog:
Once open, Ty Heulog will be a beautiful nursing home supporting adults with mental health needs, complex neurological needs, acquired brain injuries, and dementia. As our Chef, you will play a vital role in the heart of the home- the kitchen.
You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to individual needs and preferences, working closely with colleagues to plan varied menus that meet dietary requirements, including guidance from SALT and other professionals.
This role offers:
10- hour shifts between 8am and 6pm
4 days per week (38 hours per week)
Alternative weekends working
Autonomy to suggest and lead themed food events and special celebration days
The opportunity to create and manage an annual events calendar

What You Will Do:
Create and serve delicious, home-style meals designed around individual tastes and wellbeing needs
Lead and support kitchen colleagues to maintain high standards
Ensure all food hygiene, Health & Safety and relevant regulations are met
You are:
Passionate about fresh food and high-quality meals
Creative and enjoy bringing new ideas to life
Kind, patient and resilient
Organised and able to work independently
A team player who lives by values of care and respect
Committed to training and development
You have:
At least 2 years cooking experience
Knowledge of dietary requirements in care environments
