Chef opportunity

Looking for a career that truly matters? This is your opportunity to be part of something special from day one.

We're opening Ty Heulog, a brand-new, purpose-built 32 bed nursing home in Cardiff in Summer 2026, and we're looking for a passionate, dedicated Chef to help shape the culture and embed our values from the very beginning.

About Ty Heulog:

Once open, Ty Heulog will be a beautiful nursing home supporting adults with mental health needs, complex neurological needs, acquired brain injuries, and dementia. As our Chef, you will play a vital role in the heart of the home- the kitchen.

You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to individual needs and preferences, working closely with colleagues to plan varied menus that meet dietary requirements, including guidance from SALT and other professionals.

This role offers:

  • 10- hour shifts between 8am and 6pm

  • 4 days per week (38 hours per week)

  • Alternative weekends working

  • Autonomy to suggest and lead themed food events and special celebration days

  • The opportunity to create and manage an annual events calendar

We encourage creativity. If you have ideas for seasonal menus, cultural food days, bake-offs or garden parties- we want to hear them. Your ideas can shape the experiences of the people we support.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and serve delicious, home-style meals designed around individual tastes and wellbeing needs

  • Lead and support kitchen colleagues to maintain high standards

  • Ensure all food hygiene, Health & Safety and relevant regulations are met

You are:

  • Passionate about fresh food and high-quality meals

  • Creative and enjoy bringing new ideas to life

  • Kind, patient and resilient

  • Organised and able to work independently

  • A team player who lives by values of care and respect

  • Committed to training and development

You have:

  • At least 2 years cooking experience

  • Knowledge of dietary requirements in care environments

Our rewards and benefits include:

  • Access to our exclusive ivolve extra discounts platform

  • Your birthday off following a qualifying period

  • Weekly lotto draws winning cash prizes, scratch card prizes for reward and recognition

  • Yearly colleague awards and recognition events

  • Salary advance scheme (after a qualifying period)

If you are ready to help create something truly special and make a meaningful difference every day, we would love to hear from you.
