Shifts: 40 hours -  Monday to Friday 08.00am - 16.00pm

Pay Rate: £12.60 - £12.90 per hour

About You

 

We have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join our teams at St Gwynllyw Day Centres. The centres are Specialist Education and Care Day Services for individuals with a Learning Disability and other complex needs, whilst a related qualification is desirable, it is not essential. Support will be given once in the role to gain all relevant qualifications.

Role Overview 

  • You’ll support adults with lots of different needs such as learning disabilities, autism, ABI,  profound multiple learning disabilities and mental health

  • You’ll do activities like cooking, art or listening to music. There is of course practical support too and helping people to reach their goals in smaller ways. You’ll manage medication, shopping, health needs and hygiene as well as keep things tidy and safe

  • Providing education and organisational support to the Head of Education and Social Development in planning, monitoring, assessing and managing learning activities
  • Guiding service users during structured and non-structured sessions and assist each service user to achieve their full potential
  • The successful applicant will have energy and enthusiasm with the ability to use their initiative to support learning and behaviour in fun and creative ways. Candidates should have a real passion and commitment to join an expanding, successful education and healthcare service.

Key Skills and Experience 

 

Essential 

  • Good general education

  • Honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, and a passion to make a difference

  • Commitment to the aims and objectives of the home and of Ivolve

  • Satisfactory Police Check and check against the ISA List (where applicable)

  • A commitment to undertake training and development

Desirable 

  • RQF Level 2 or above in social care

  • Previous experience within social care setting

  • Knowledge and commitment regarding Equal Opportunities

  • Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks

  • Confident IT user
